The purpose of each HomeGroup is four-fold:

1) Discipleship

Through Gods living Word and by His Spirit we want to see every person participating in the life and ministry of the church, growing personally in their relationship with God and being equipped and trained to serve God. We look at what God says to us and we desire to be good, effective and productive followers of Jesus.

We can undertake study themes and take care to be Christians who understand their faith. We see the HomeGroup as an opportunity for leadership training - for future HomeGroup Leaders !

2) Presence

In HomeGroups we worship God together, and expect to encounter Him through the power of the Holy Spirit. We look to encounter God's presence amongst us, changing and transforming our lives.

We want His Holy Spirit to move amongst us enabling us to be who He created us to be, and to do what he created us to do. We treat His word as a living word and welcome Him speaking into our lives.

3) Care

HomeGroups are the place where friends care for one another's spiritual and material needs. The life of the group extends beyond the HomeGroup meeting. We recognize the importance of looking after each other. As we look to become a "one-another" church we desire for people to know they are cared for, prayed for and encouraged in their lives as Christians.

We don't expect one person to be able to fully meet the needs of many. So our HomeGroups are our first line of pastoral care in the Church. If people need immediate prayer support or assistance in any way they can call upon the HomeGroup leaders who will be effective in initiating the help needed.

All of the above should be leading us to :-

4) Growth

We want each HomeGroup to grow in numbers by reaching out to those who do not know God within their locality. Every one of us lives in a road or street and we aim to let all our neighbours know that we are there praying for them and serving them where we can. HomeGroups are also a way of introducing new people and existing Christians to come into the life of King's Church.

Each HomeGroup is responsible for reaching out to its locality. We want our homes to become places where practical Christianity works!

Each HomeGroup sees one of its fundamental reasons for existing is to share the Gospel and the life of Jesus with many, and we encourage each other to this end. We aim for each HomeGroup to multiply as regularly as possible!
