Church Leadership
Gavin & Sue Dixon -have been married since 1986 and they have one son, Mark. They are both originally from Southend, and met in their local church youth group - sweet!
Gavin is the Lead Elder of King's Church and is a Governor at the school where the church meets. Sue helps oversee the various children’s groups and is on the Child Protection Team. Sue also teaches in a local Primary School.
Both are experienced DIY-ers and good for negotiating deals on anything ! In the past they have also spent around 9 years travelling around the UK and Europe leading evangelistic teams working alongside local churches. They have lived in numerous places (including having lived in Germany for a year) but returned to Southend from Norwich.
David Bareham - David is married to Anita and has 3 children He is the Team Leader at Chafford Hundred Community Church.
David has joined the Leadership Team at King's to provide support and his considerable team building experience during this new phase of King's Church.
We look forward to the fruit of growing links between the two churches

Gary Bunker - Gary is married to Jennifer
and they have 3 young daughters.
Gary is an electrician with a local company,
and leads the QUBE Youth Work at Blenheim.
Jennifer is a mid-wife at Southend
University Hospital.
They are just about to embark on a loft conversion - Gary says he knows a good electrician 
Matt Lane - Matt is married to Alison and is training to become a qualified Teacher at a local Primary School. Alison is a teacher at a Secondary School in Chelmsford. They lead a HomeGroup and also are part of the QUBE leadership.

Matt & Alison Lane - have been married since 2008! They met at a discipleship course in Manchester. Matt is from Southend and managed to persuade Alison to come back to Southend and marry him - amazing!
They are also on the leadership team of QUBE. Alison is a teacher in a Secondary School and Matt has begun a Graduate Teaching Programme in a local Primary School.
Alison is very useful with a sewing machine & Matt is pretty useful with a paint brush - in a "painting walls, ceilings, woodwork, house exteriors" - manner of speaking! They are in the throes of buying a house near to where the church meets so they can be more fruitful and effective in the area! All those DIY skills will be put to good use !
Graham & Val Back - Graham & val lead the second Leigh HomeGroup. They are wonderful hosts, and serve King's church in a number of areas including QUBE and the Welcome Team. Graham works at a local centre running groups for Special Needs and Senior Citizens. He also teaches Table Tennis and Archery. Val recently retired from working in a local Christian Bookshop.

Gary Bunker - has been married to Jennifer since 2005, and they have three daughters - Eden, Eliana and Evangeline. Gary is an electrician with a local company, and Jennifer is a qualified mid-wife........handy !

Les Johns - works in Southend Hospital and is also an accredited counsellor and trainer. Les is part of the Finance Team
Chris Chilvers - is the former pioneer of King's Church. He and his wife Margaret have recently returned from 6 years in the USA where they have continued to pioneer and lead a Newfrontiers church in Conneticut. They now live on the South Coast but remain constant encouragers for the work in Southend.
